SA: South Australia Flu Vaccine Trial

The Australian Clinical Research Organisation (ACRO) is seeking volunteers to participate in a clinical trial which is investigating a vaccine to help prevent influenza. All medical care and the study medication are provided free of charge, and participants will be appropriately reimbursed for travel expenses and inconvenience.

The vaccine is commercially available and currently used to prevent flu infections in a number of countries worldwide.

To be eligible, you must fit the following criteria:

  • Must be aged between 50 and 64
  • In general good health
  • Did not participate in this study in 2008
  • Do not work in the health industry and have regular patient contact, which includes medical students

The trial is being conducted by medically qualified professionals, and has received ethics committee approval by the Bellberry Human Research Ethics Committee. The study is being conducted at Royal Park (Port Adelaide) SA. If you fit the above criteria you may be eligible to participate in the clinical trial.
